This course material describes the reconditioning methods intended to adjust drainage characteristics, improve soil structure, add organic matter, and mitigate compaction. The text also describes the reconditioning urban soils and the types of reconditioning including soil removal, raking, tillage, subsoiling, ensuring appropriate drainage, and soil amendments. The material is based on Evaluation of Urban Soils: Suitability for Green Infrastructure or Urban Agriculture EPA Publication No. 905R1103.
